Donna has spent the last decade anticipating a much-needed shake-up in the real estate industry. She co-founded Canmoreland CLT after looking for an innovative way to apply her extensive real estate knowledge, and strong desire for an empowered community.
Establishing a CLT was the fastest and most practical way to create a community-focused entity in response to the decades long real estate crisis the Bow Valley has faced. The CLT model is proving that real solutions exist, even in communities facing the most dire gentrification and displacement.
Donna has a unique perspective of real estate and its interconnectivity to people, life, and economics. She has been tracking the housing crisis long before it hit mainstream headlines, writing and consulting across multiple industry sectors.
Her passions fall into one of three categories: complex, creative, or in nature. Above all, she is dedicated to creating a life worth living and empowering others to do the same. Sharing her real estate knowledge is a move toward social innovation and industry revolution.
When not working, you can find Donna in the woods, by the river, crafting, feeding her boys, or cultivating dreams with her husband, Ryan.
Ryan has been a full-time resident of Canmore since 2017. He co-founded Canmoreland Community Land Trust (CCLT) in an effort to create a more equitable system that prioritizes community needs through sustainable development, and community ownership. Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge as a senior management leader, licenced realtor, renewable energy developer, and active community member. He has a passion for knowledge sharing, and using past experience to foster new ways of thinking that serve the greater good. Ryan spends his time exploring the Bow Valley, attending local events, supporting the local business community, and generally enjoying life with his family.
Simon has been a full-time resident of Canmore since 1999 and co-founded CCLT because he could see that his children (and many other current residents) were never going to be able to continue to reside in Canmore. He brings a breadth of experience in working with leaders, organizations, and teams that can be applied to forming and fulfilling the vision of this community land trust. He’s passionate about focus, context, and improving communication wherever connection is valued. On any given day, you might find him in or on the river.
